Glow plugs on Diesel / Turbo Diesel engines provide the heat needed for the first combustion of the air/diesel mixture in the engine of your VW LT from 1996 to 2006) :
- 2.5 SDi 75hp (AGX)
- 2.5 TDi 90hp (APA)
- 2.5 TDi 102hp (AHD)
- 2.5 TDi 109hp (ANJ)

If, when cold, the engine has difficulty starting, runs on 3 cylinders or smokes excessively, it's likely that the spark plugs are no longer supplying sufficient power and need replacing.

It's advisable not to mix brands and to replace all 4 spark plugs at the same time, to avoid causing a glow imbalance.
Also check that the glow relay is working properly, and that the glow plug supply wiring is free from play or signs of wear.
