This GUNSON ripometer is a system for checking the parallelism of vehicle wheels.
It consists of a rolling platform which allows the wheel to be positioned correctly.
Any lateral deviation of the tire will cause the upper plate to move. It then becomes visible via a needle which shows what adjustment to make to correct the fault.
