This KERSCHER steering rack for VW Beetles up to 07/1965 is German quality.

This kit allows the installation of a rack-and-pinion steering system on VW Beetles and Buggies with front axle pivots.

Although it mounts on the steering box mountings, it requires precise mechanical and welding skills, mainly at the steering column.

This rack comes with the spacers and gaskets needed to slightly remount the tank on older models.

Compatible models:

- VW Beetle sedan and convertible 1200, 1300, 1500 with pivoting front axle up to 07/1965

!!!Not suitable for narrowed front axles!!!

Even on an original front axle, it is possible for the rack to come into contact with the left front suspension shock absorber.

In this case, there are two possibilities:

1- Remove the rack protection and add an additional 20mm stop to the 15mm Teflon stop in the rack.

2- Shorten the rack and its rubber protection sleeve.
