Details about : Kit of Single Row IMS Bearing + Tools for Porsche 986 Boxster (2001-2004)


Kit including RS13584 tools + single row IMS bearing RS13580. For Porsche 986 Boxster produced from May 2001 :

- 986 2.7 Boxster - 220 hp (M96.22) from 2001 to 2002
- 986 2.7 Boxster - 228 hp (M96.23) from 2003 to 2004
- 986 3.2 Boxster S - 252 hp (M96.21) from 2001 to 2002
- 986 3.2 Boxster S - 260 hp (M96.24) from 2003 to 2004

In order to facilitate the assembly of the bearing and to preserve its integrity. It is strongly recommended to cool it before, in a freezer for 2 hours and in addition, to heat (to 120 degrees) the area of the engine block which will receive the IMS.

Also, it is imperative to ensure that there is no oil in the intermediate shaft tube before installing the bearing!
Centrifugal force, combined with residual oil, causes a counterweight which will destroy the bearing prematurely
