Description Product
The reinforced front suspension ball joint is a crucial component in a vehicle's suspension system. It connects the various chassis components (such as suspension arms) to the wheels, and plays a key role in steering, stability and ride comfort. The reinforced version of this ball joint is designed to offer greater strength and improved durability than standard ball joints.
A reinforced suspension ball joint is made from stronger materials than the original and treated to withstand greater forces.
Thanks to higher-quality materials or more advanced manufacturing technologies (such as rubber seals or reinforced composite materials), the reinforced ball joint lasts longer. This reduces replacement frequency and improves suspension system reliability.
A reinforced suspension ball joint helps maintain greater steering precision and minimize play in the suspension system, providing a more stable ride and better vehicle control.
A reinforced ball joint is less likely to deteriorate under excessive pressure, reducing the risk of suspension failure. As a result, it contributes to vehicle safety , particularly when cornering or maneuvering sharply, but also when the vehicle is loaded, as can be the case with Westfalia, Devon and others.
With a reinforced ball joint, the suspension system can better handle bumps and road irregularities. This improves driving comfort by reducing vibrations and ensuring better grip of the wheels on the ground.
This ball joint is particularly advantageous for vehicles used in difficult environments, such as rough terrain, or for modified Combis, such as those used for off-roading, where the forces on the suspension are greater than those encountered in normal driving.
In short, a reinforced front suspension ball joint is designed to offer greater durability, strength and safety. It improves the performance and longevity of the suspension system, particularly for vehicles requiring a more robust suspension.
This premium quality MEYLE HD reinforced front lower or upper ball joint is designed for VW Combi Bay Window all models from 08/1967 to 07/1979.
Model with a ball head diameter of 48.6 mm, i.e. 0.2 mm wider than an original ball joint to compensate for suspension arm wear.
Remember to use the KJ51290 eccentric ring to adjust the camber of your Combi's front axle, to be repositioned when fitting the new upper ball joint.
