Description Product

Details about : Oil thermostat for external oil radiator

This thermostat ensures the correct temperature rise of the engine oil, opening the external radiator circuit when the oil reaches 80°C, so you don't run with cold oil for too long. Molded-in 12mm fittings, supplied with clamps.

Operation (see instructions supplied) :

- Figure 1: At less than 75° Celsius, the bypass valve remains open and pushes oil through both radiator feed lines simultaneously (top and bottom). The uniform pressure exerted in both pipes is cancelled out by equalization, preventing circulation through the radiator. The radiator is thus neutralized and the oil circulates inside the thermostat by bypass only to and from the motor.

- Figure 2: At approx. 75°C, the regulator valve begins to close, interrupting this back pressure, and the pressure to the radiator becomes positive. At around 80°C, the by-pass valve is fully closed, and the hot oil flows exclusively through the radiator, before returning to the engine cooled down.

When the oil has cooled below 80°C, the reverse operation takes place and the by-pass valve opens again.
