INFORMATION: With this 1st restyling, the VW logo moves from the left to the middle of the rear panel. On the right is the Golf GTI emblem. The word "golf" is written at an angle.
This emblem was also present on GTI 16V models intended for foreign markets (Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, etc.). A small 16V logo on a red background was placed underneath.
ATTENTION: To remain true to the original, this emblem is not suitable for Golf 2 GTI 16S marketed in France from 08/1987 to 10/1991 (in France, over this period, it is then the elongated emblem "golf GTI 16S", the writing of "golf" and "16S" being inclined)!
