The double row bearing of the intermediate shaft is not held by a circlip while the single row is.
This bearing is more solid than the original, although the balls are not ceramic, the bearing has a special high temperature grease and a seal more resistant than the original. It resists thus better friction and heating. This makes your engine more reliable.
In order to facilitate the assembly of the bearing and to preserve its integrity. It is strongly recommended to cool it before, in a freezer for 2 hours and in addition, to heat (to 120 degrees) the area of the engine block which will receive the IMS.
Also, it is imperative to ensure that there is no oil in the intermediate shaft tube before installing the bearing!
Centrifugal force, combined with residual oil, causes a counterweight which will destroy the bearing prematurely
