Description Product
This suspension cylinder body for 2cvs - small diameter - 110mm - STAINLESS STEEL is original quality.
The stainless steel sill uses higher quality components than the original
This crucial element in the highly distinctive suspension system on 2cv cars and derivatives is very exposed to corrosion, so this particular cylinder has a housing entirely made out of stainless steel, with higher quality cups and tie rods that are forged and not welded like most suspension cylinders on the market.
With a diameter of 110 mm, it fits 2cv and Dyane saloon cars as well as Meharis. The heavier vans and AMI 6 and 8 cars have suspension cylinders with a larger diameter.
It requires you to fit the adjustment rings and threaded pipes, as well as the boots and tie rod ends which connect it to the front and rear suspension arms.
Maintenance tip:
- Adjust the vehicle's travel and trim with specific tools. Use a 46 spanner for adjusting the hexagonal nuts on the threaded pipes and a hex socket for adjusting the tie rod ends.
- You need to lubricate it properly for the suspension cylinder to work properly. Choose an oil instead of a grease that is too thick. The inner springs will tend to push thick grease to the ends of the cylinder causing a very unpleasant squeaking sound.
- carefully fitting a grease nipple onto the upper external quarter of the suspension housing makes it easier for you to regularly grease this suspension cylinder internally.
