Your Porsche may have had a water pump upgrade: there's a version with a small timing belt idler mounted on it, 32 mm in diameter, and another with a 46 mm idler. Their mounting points on the water pump are therefore different.

Your Porsche may have received the water pump assembly with small 32 mm diameter roller. The motor may have been replaced in the past. The attachment point for this roller is therefore different on the water pump.
If this is the case, it's possible to fit the water pump with the large roller version (46 mm diameter) as shown here, but this will require a cut-out in the plastic timing cover on the engine block side, or replacement with OEM version 944 105 039 02 , which has the necessary opening.
